Promoting Art
Amateur Designers Display

Students of Pre-Foundation/Foundation Studies in Art & Design were given the opportunity to display their own designed work. The amateur designers exhibited the work they had done in three months time. Specialised areas were Fashion, Textiles, Interior and Furniture. The exhibition was open for visitors related to the Art & Design field on November 30, 2004 between 11:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. The exhibition helped students to have confidence in their work. Students work was highly appreciated and their products were sold on the spot.

The participants' work was judged by external jury, including Mr. Nabeel Akhtar (Fashion designer), Mr. Ali Azmat (Artist) and Ms. Aiza Sohail ( Coordinator School of Art & Design, P.U). The jurers also gave a lecture and briefing on ‘presentation skills' and display of artists' work. Later the top ranking students were awarded positions and Scholarships. Jury appreciated the teaching style and techniques that enabled students to perform brilliantly in just three months time! … the credit goes to the members of Faculty of Art & Design!

Following are some of the comments of jury:
Ms. Aiza Sohail: “…in such a little time students had come up with a work like this! it's unbelievably good. They should also work on their communication skills and display. Keep it up!!!”

Mr. Nabeel Akhtar: “…Thanks for inviting me. I am impressed by the amount & quality of of work produced by the students. Most definitely i can say thats if compared with their counterparts in other colleges, STEP students are doing a fair job"
