Promoting Art
Young Artist Competition

SAEL held an Art Exhibition for school children (7-13 yr.) on June 19 2004 . The topic of the competition was 'LIFE IN SPACE'. 60 students from different schools participated in this exhibition contributing to its success.

Salima Hashmi, the renowned artist was invited as a judge and three students were given the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes on their drawings. A number of people including parents, children and their teachers visited the exhibition and appreciated the initiative taken by the SAEL's team for the promotion of art among children.

Students had a fun filled day; they attended "Art & Language Sessions" arranged by Faculty of Modern Languages' English for Kids Programme . Activities were aimed to develop language skills and creative thinking through arts and craft.

Fun based education for children, especially in the field of language is the most neglected area in Pakistan . A very minimal work has been done in this field and to gratify the age group of 7-13, STEP Faculty of Modern Languages has designed a language programme exclusively for kids.

In "English for Kids Programme", students comprehensively work on their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills emphasizing upon issues as:
Language comprehension
Communication enhancement
Phonics
Spellings
Sentence structure
Writing organisation
Information retrieval
