| About the workshop: |
| The two days workshop is designed to help and support teachers who have been working in the primary level of education in public/private schools. There is no minimum work experience required; however, it is advisable to have sufficient knowledge of ‘working with children'. The workshop covers both theoretical and practical elements in teaching. The focused areas are “value of sports in teaching” and “behaviour management”. |

| Value of Sports: |
| Part one of the workshop “value of sports in teaching” emphasizes upon importance of games in the physical and mental development of the students. If used constructively, indoor and outdoor physical activities can improve the learning capabilities of a student. |

| Topics to be covered: |
| This workshop covers a wide range of activities to enhance a student's learning, making of batons, beanbags and team bands are some of the examples. |

| The trainers shall help in leading games and teaching to arrange activities with help of less expensive / easily available items |

| It will be a practical session outside in the ground and all the participants are expected to participate. (Please bring appropriate shoes) |

| This session will help teachers to have an insight on integrated approach towards education. integrate sports into their individual teaching styles. |

| Ms. Norris |
| Ms. Norris is a full time sports teacher, has lived in Pakistan for many years. Mr. Hashmi is a sports coach and with Ms. Norris, he has conducted and led 16 games workshops during the past few years. |

| Positive behavior management - dealing with apathy and negativity |
| This 4 hour workshop is designed to teach teachers a broad range of practical interpersonal skills to use in the classroom - as the occasion arises. All forms of classroom behavior can be successfully dealt with, especially confronting and challenging behavior. |

| Topics covered : |
| Workshop mainly emphasis upon dealing and managing the challenging and often difficult behaviors of the children that teachers face both in the classroom and the school in general. |

| Intended outcomes: |
| Through insight gained, teachers will be able to assess and make appropriate changes to their individual teaching style. This results in lowered classroom tension, less teacher stress, and more effective teaching and learning. |

| Ms. Imtiaz has done her MSc in Development Studies with specialisation in Education Reforms in Pakistan . She has been working as teacher's assistant for children with severe behaviour & learning difficulties in London. |
